Our family has a tradition that we started about 2 and 1/2 years ago...we take balloons to Brynnley's grave on her birthday and Memorial Day and we let them "go up to heaven". And then we watch until we can't see them any more. This was Savannah's and Avery's idea and we love it!! And we like to think that Brynnley is watching and just waiting to "catch" all of her balloons! :)

hAPpY 7tH biRTHdaY, aVErY!!!
Okay, so it has been a while since I've posted anything...and for some reason I didn't post any pictures for Avery's birthday, which was back on May 25th. So I'm doing it now because she is so special and needs to be recognized. We have so much fun with Avery. She is always crackin' jokes and making people laugh. And when she smiles, she sparkles! She's a little firecracker and we LOVE having her be a part of our family!! Happy Birthday, munchkin!!

Cutest Kids in the World!!

So, my good friend, Jessie Funk, has got a new photography business going (http://www.cliophotography.com/) and asked if we would be her guinea pigs. I said sure. It turned out to be an awesome and fun session and we got some incredible family and individual pictures. Love them!!
CRAZY HAIR DAY!!!!!
The title says it all!! Morgan has been waiting for this day since last summer. That is why he has refused to have his hair cut too short. So we did a style worthy of the long hair! :) Avery decided to go with purple "balls" on her head and Maddie went crazy, but cute with braids loopty-loop on the back of her head. Hey even Savannah woke up in time to get into our crazy hair day picture. :)
Maddie's 11th Birthday!!
We had such a fun day with Maddie. I can't believe that my baby girl is 11 years old. She has been babysitting for us, but now that she's eleven she seems so much older! Madison is such a wonderful young lady. And she is a HUGE help to her mom and dad...we would be lost without her! So...love you, Maddie! You're the BEST 11 year old ever!!

A LITTLE UPDATE ON THE FAMILY......
So...I have not been too good on updating my blog. But life is crazy for all of us, so I'm sure that everyone understands. :) What's been going on you might ask??? Well...we just got back from a wonderful week spent in Disneyland!! It was so much fun for all of us. We went with my brother Josh and his family and my big sis., Krista. It was a blast and a much needed vacation. And as usual, it's over too soon. But we took lots of pics and got some fun souvenirs to remind us of good times! I'll post pictures as soon as I get them downloaded from our camera. Which I don't have time to do right now...funny!
Maddie tried out for the Lehi 6th grade cheer squad and made it! Yes, my little girl will be a cheerleader! Holy cow where is the time going?!? She will be cheering at football games as well as competing. I talked to her coach who said that in stunting, Maddie might be a flyer (eeek!) because she is so petite and she is shorter than the rest of the girls. Maddie does not like the fact that she is smaller than everyone else her age, but she accepts (hopefully) that she just hasn't hit her growth spurt yet. :) She is also going to start piano with a good friend that teaches right here on our street. So she is going to be busy...or is it mom that is going to be busier? :)
Morgan is having fun in scouts and just had his Pine Wood Rocket Derby (?). His rocket got the lightening award because it went so fast (gotta go fast, gotta go...speeeed!!!). This was the first time that I had to really be involved with the making of the project because Danny was out of town on business. It was fun for Morgan and myself to sand, paint and put together his rocket. Even though the instructions left a lot to be desired! It was a good time. Once again, I'll post pictures soon.
Avery is in gymnastics now. I'm not sure if I've mentioned that before. She LOVES it!! She absolutely loves it! I can't believe how quickly she has caught on. She's little Miss flexible and has a go-get'em attitude that really helps in a gymnast. She's not scared of trying anything and everything. In fact, her coach is amazed at how quickly she is catching on to everything and has already put her into the level 2 class with girls that have been doing gymnastics quite a bit longer. It should be fun to see how this talent develops!
Last, but not least, Savannah is mommy's girl. She loves to help around the house and when I babysit Emma and Ella she is a mini-mom. She really helps me take care of them. She also loves to play with her friends. She is so excited to start school, I wish I could tell her that she won't start kindergarten until she is almost 6. I think she will be my first child to be in pre-school. I'll have to do something or she is going to be so disappointed come fall when all of her friends (groan) as well as her sisters and brother go to school and she is left behind. Curse that deadline! ;)
Anywho, that pretty much updates you on whats been going on in our family lately. I will post pictures soon. I hope that everyone is enjoying our Spring snow! ;) (ugh) I can't believe that another school year is almost over! Slow down life!!! Love you all!

RAD KIDS!!
This is Morgan in the Rad kids program at school. Rad kids teaches elementary age kids how to defend themselves in the event that they are approached or attacked by a stranger. It's about an 8 week course (where a local police officer comes) that they take during P.E. then they have an assembly to show off what they've learned. It almost brings a tear to the eye to know that these kids are learning moves that can save their lives. It's awesome!! In this video, he comes to a lady who asks if he wants a ride home, he has to ask her the family password, since she doesn't know it, he yells "STAY BACK!!" Then he runs to a another "stranger" who bends over him and he has to use his pepper attack (hits in the eyes). Then he runs to the police officer who tries to grab him and take him away. Morgan has to hit, kick, scream...to get away from him. Then he runs to a phone and calls 911. It's really neat to see all these kids defending themselves. Anywho, that was a long explanation, but I thought it would help knowing what he was doing. (the picture above is Morgan and a couple of his buddies from school) Enjoy the video.

Christmas 2008!!
Santa came to the Beck house!! We had such a great Christmas! Santa was very good to us this year...well, he is every year! And it's wonderful to hear the kids say each year that this was the BEST Christmas ever!! The break from work and school was so nice. We saw movies, hung out at home and were just plain lazy. AAAAAH, Heaven! :)

Beck Family Christmas Party!!
Angie and Calvin planned such a fun night for everyone. We went to the Pleasant Grove Senior Citizen Center and had a scrumptious dinner which was followed by games that allowed the crazy in us to come out! And then we had a special visit from the big guy himself...Santa Claus!! He jingled his bells and "HO-HO-ed" his way in to cheers from all the kids. He took each one of them and sat them on his lap and asked them THE question..."What do you want for Christmas?" and then he gave them a bag of goodies to take home, with a promise that he would try to fulfill their wishes for Christmas. There were a few requests that surprised some of the parents, Danny and myself included, but for the most part the wants had not changed. :) It was so much fun and created some fun memories for all of us, but especially my kids. Thanks Angie and Calvin!!!
Temple Square
We had such a fabulous time going with my family to Temple Square a couple of weeks ago...or maybe it's been 3 weeks, I tend to lose track of the days this time of year. :) Anywho, it wasn't too cold and the kids really enjoyed seeing the lights. What a wonderful time of year! And how blessed we are to live in this beautiful place!
