Studio Time!

The kids and I got to go up to the studio where Danny has been recording and listen while he recorded two more songs for his album! We had a great time hangin' out and getting in the way! We loved it!

HEE HAW FARMS!!!

We went to Hee Haw farms recently and had such a grand time!! We were able to have yummy donuts and hot chocolate after we got to experience the joy of holding a squealing piglet for the first time. :) "Wilbur" would squeal like a...well, like a pig when you picked him up, but then he'd calm right down when you snuggled him close. So cute! They had a fun petting zoo, so the kids were able to catch and hold a chicken, pet some bunnies, and a baby cow as well as some goats. We had a great time!! My favorite part was seeing my kids wonder and delight whether it was going down the slide, riding a pony or holding the animals. I also secretly enjoyed holding "Wilbur". :) hehehe

Happy Fall, everyone!!

Rasmussen Reunion 2008

Wow, what a great day! It was so much fun to see everyone, to catch up on all the latest news, to see new babies and toddlers that used to be babies the last time I checked. :) Thanks to all those that took the time to make it such a fabulous day for the rest of us. And I'm so glad that everyone came! 100 people! That is quite the reunion. It was wonderful to see you all. Here on some pictures of that day...there were three-legged races and a variety show, games for the kids and of course, scrumptious food!! Way to go, party planners! Sure love ya!

Lehi 10th ward Young Women

I just wanted to show off some of the young women in my ward. I love working with these girls. In the picture are my beehives from left to right: Paris, Sierra, Megan, Mari, Mckenna, Nichole, Shyanne and Shelby. Shelby leaned in at the very last second, that's why she got cut off. :) This picture was taken at The Gardens at Thanksgiving Point.

It's coming!!

Finally! Danny has started recording songs for his first solo album! I cannot wait for him to do this. It's been a long process, getting to the point of actually recording, but it will have been worth it. I've heard most of the songs and can honestly say that they are fantastic! I can't wait for all of you to hear it. You will not be disappointed. It is scheduled for release on November 1st.
He is going to ROCK the world!!!
(I'm only biased a little, teensy bit.
It really will be a fabulous
album and we can't wait
to share it with everyone!)
Love you all!

Fun FHE!!

These are just some fun pix of a family home evening where we all pitched in and made cupcakes for our treat! It's times like these that make some awesome memories! Not to mention some finger lickin' (or face lickin') fun! You can tell that the biggest kid was enjoying himself immensely! :)

Pine Wood Derby!!

We had our first Pine Wood Derby this week! Danny and Morgan worked on getting his car "tuned" to perfection for several days. They went over to Mom Beck's and used her scroll saw to get the aero-dynamic shape they wanted and then got some metallic paint so that it would shine like lightening. I think they named the car "Red Lightening"! Morgan had a lot of fun at the races and he even earned his Bobcat badge. He's really enjoying scouts and to help matters, he has some awesome den leaders! So, thanks to those wonderful leaders for making scouts so much fun for him and a little easier on mom. :) Love that car, Morgan!! Red Lightening is #1!!!

First day of School!!

They grow up too fast!
So school has been going for 2 weeks and the kids are loving it. I miss them, bad, but what can you do. I know that I wouldn't be any good at home-schooling. :)
This picture was taken just before they went out to catch the bus. They make a pretty cute crew! Savannah is chomping at the bit to head out that door with them, but she won't be able to go until she is almost 6, due to her October birthday. So in the mean time, I get to be her buddy during the day. I have watched quite a bit more Disney channel than I'm used to and we've read a lot of books and played barbies...I love being her best friend right now. It's so fun! It does make it hard to get anything else done though. :)
I hope that everyone is doing well and that your kids are enjoying school! xoxoxo

School is coming...

School is just a few short days away!! I cannot believe it! My kids are all so excited. They can't wait to see all the friends that they missed over the summer, to meet their new teachers, wear their new clothes and they are especially excited for all that homework that they get to do... :) hehehe! They are excited, but they could probably do without the homework! Avery will be going all day now since she is in first grade. I think Savannah is going to be lost without her. They are very close. But thankfully Emma and Ella, my darling twin nieces, will be coming over for a couple of days a week, so Vannah will have someone to play with during the day. (I'll post first day of school pix when I get them)

I just have to say... I love being a mom! Nothing compares to the joy of having kids that call you mom and come running up to give you a hug, just because. Or seeing the little things that they do each day to make you smile, or watching them grow into young adults that make you so proud.

Look at me, I'm getting all sentimental. It's because school is starting and I feel like time is simply flying by. Maddie will be in fifth grade! She is only 2 years away from Young Women's and Junior high! Stop time, STOP!!! :)

But I love my kids more and more each day because each day they bring a little bit of Heaven into our home. Each day they make me laugh at some silly little thing they do or say. And each day I'm reminded that I need to savor those silly little things. They are so amazing, wonderful, beautiful and talented! I know that you all feel the same way about your own kids, but since this is my blog, I'm going to brag...just a little bit! :)

I hope that everyone is doing fabulous! Please feel free to send me your blogs, if you have one and/or blogs of other family members and friends that I might not have. I would love to see how all of your families are doing. Have a great first week of school!!! I love you all!
(The picture is of Danny and Maddie at the Jordin Sparks concert this summer. Yes, she looks WAY too old!)

Hey everyone! Can you believe that July is gone?!? Holy cow, where did the summer go? I hope you all have had a ROCKIN' summer! I can't believe that school is starting in exactly two weeks! Man, I miss my kids already! But, life goes on. Just a quick update on life and things...Ashlee and Staven's wedding was wonderful. They are so cute together, I just know that they will make each other so happy! And it was so great to see all of our family that came to their dinner. The kids are all excited to start school and Danny is still working on his album. Which we all hope will be released in November! I hope everyone enjoys these last couple of weeks of summer, before it's back to the old grind stone! :) Love you all!

So, it's been a while. Life has been pretty busy, but we love it. We also love when it calms down a bit. Right now, we are in a calm phase, so I'm going to update things here on the blog. I hope that everyone had a wonderful 4th of July holiday. Our family spent the holiday weekend with the Rasmussen's for our yearly retreat. We had a huge bounce house complete with water slide and yummy food. We also spent a day at Lagoon and did our best to wear ourselves out completely!!
It was great fun! On the 4th, we went to Provo and watched the parade and then went up Provo canyon to hunt for treasure using a GPS. And of course, we rounded off the day with a spectacular fireworks show at Thanksgiving Point. :)

We've also managed to take a trip to Yuba resevoir with Danny's family. Boats+Beach=Fun!!!
It was a great time. We all had a blast soaking up the sun at Utah's very own beach.

To finish off this busy time, I just got back from Girls Camp, which was an experience full of fun and memories. Now, we get to sit and relax for a while until it gets busy again. Ash and Staven are getting married the end of this month and then school starts and then the holidays are here......ready, set, GO! :)

I just wanted to take the time to express to our families how much we love and appreciate them.
Especially Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen and Grandma and Grandpa Beck. They never fail to be there for us when we need them the most, and they are always there when we want to laugh or hang out or we need a hug. They always do things in a BIG way! Never half-hearted or half-way! My kids are big fans of their grandparents! We want you to know that we are forever grateful and we love you!

It's Sunday, so I thought I'd take some time to post some pictures that would show off my cute kids. We went to North Carolina to visit Matt and Rachel and there family in May. It was so much fun. We went to the zoo and some awesome museums, as well as Myrtle Beach! We are so glad that we got to spend so much time with the Southern Becks! It was a memory that will last a lifetime! Thanks, Matt and Rach! We love ya!
We also had the chance to go to Idaho to visit my brother, Ryan and his wife, Tara. They were blessing their cutie-patootie baby, Abby. So we used it as an excuse to have a "mini" vacation and to celebrate the end of school!

News!

Life is crazy busy right now! Even though the kids are out of school, things seem to keep happening...constantly. But we love it and we are never bored! :) The kids have been busy playing with friends as well as with Scouts for Morgan and Activity Days for Maddie. And then there is always swimming and sleepovers and family trips and friends and looking for the next big adventure! Danny is still at Wavetronix where he does a fabulous job of helping people figure out the complicated workings of a traffic detection sensor...? He is very good at what he does and he enjoys the job immensely. And it helps that he works for and with some pretty great people! Danny is also busy working on an ALBUM!!! Yep, the opportunity has finally come for him to share his talents and we couldn't be happier about the situation. We are crossing our fingers that the CD will be released in the Fall. Yea! For more information about Danny's musical career you can go to www.danielbeckmusic.com. If that's not enough to keep you busy, Danny also is one of the Webolos leaders in our ward as well as a Sunday School teacher. As for me, I keep busy with the kids and house and stuff...I'm also in a card club which I love. My calling in the ward is 2nd counselor in the Young Women's. It's been quite the adventure so far and should continue to get interesting since we have girl's camp coming up. I love it!
Anywho, I'll keep things updated as best I can, I believe this is going to be fun!!
Hello everyone! It's the Beck family official blog! I thought that this would be a great way to keep all of you up to date on what's going on at the Beck home in Lehi. This should be fun to do, since I'm a huge scrapbooking fan! And it's been so fun to keep up on Matt and Rachel's family in North Carolina and Josh and Maria's family in P.G. Lots of fun info and pictures to come. So keep checkin' in!
